Picasa for Mac is Google's answer to iPhoto and allows you to easily publish photos from your Mac to the web. All the accolades that apply to the Windows version of Picasa apply to Picasa for Mac except of course, Picasa for Mac has all the polish and classy touches you'd expect from a Mac interface. Once you open Picasa, it will perform a full scan of images on your Mac which it then loads into the viewer quickly and efficiently.
All images are instantly organized in chronological order. Unlike iPhoto, Picasa for Mac does not create it's own compressed library file thus it saves disk space compared to iPhoto. However, it's obviously not as well integrated as iPhoto with other Apple apps. Everything that's included in the Windows version is here including simple editing functions, slide shows, and online photo and video publishing as long as you have a Google account.
